One Wall is a ceramic studio based at One Fox Lane in Adamsdown, Cardiff. We offer range of pottery classes, one off taster session and weekend courses. Our aim is to share our skills and knowledge supporting people to develop their skills and vision as potters. At One Wall we value and always aim to deliver an immersive and holistic approach to teaching where every stage of the process is given time and respect.

The studio is also home to Jack Welbourne’s pottery production. Jack has been based at One Fox Lane since 2016, his work is focused around wheel thrown tableware that is held by stockist both nationally and internationally.

Since 2022 Hamish Symonds has been working alongside Jack at One Wall studio to deliver the teaching program. Hamish is an accomplished potter working in the slipware tradition with his own practise being based at Fireworks clay studios in Grangetown, Cardiff.

Throwing Taster Sessions

Throwing taster session – Throwing

Ever wondered what the feeling of clay following through your fingers is like? If so this is your chance to come and have a go at working on the potters wheel and find out. The two and a half hour throwing taster session will give you the chance to spin a few pots and introduce you to the basic techniques of the craft.

Student will get a demonstration of each step of the process and the guided through the creation of their own bowl and cylinder shapes. Please be aware that you will not be keeping any of the pots made during this class, it is purely about introducing you to the process of throwing on the wheel. 

The course is refundable 10 days before it starts. you can also request to change the date of your booking 10 days before the class. Any requests to change date after this time and you will not be accepted.

Refreshments are provided on arrival.

  • Time: 10.30am – 12.30 midday /  1pm – 3pm
